San Diego Supercomputer Centre - California (USA)
South view of the building geometry model used for the EnergyPlus simulations.
Variation of degree hours above a given base temperature for the seven weather years used in this study.
Predicted impact of the ventilation scheme (measured in operation hours within a given indoor temperature interval).
Work Performed
Local climate analysis.
Thermal simulation (EnergyPlus).
Natural displacement ventilation analysis.
Relevant Details
The new San Diego supercomputer centre building will make extensive use of exposed thermal mass and external shading with the goal of reducing mechanical cooling energy needs. The proposed climate control system uses hybrid displacement ventilation.
